The VCMP Community ✅

First appearing around 2006, VCMP (stands for Vice City Multi-Player is a mod of the game of the GTA Saga GTA:Vice City) This community had its peak for almost 5 years till the appearance of new online videogames which completely overshadowed the humble mod. There is something to recognize about this mod and that is its community which outstands as one of a kind. VCMP has had a clear fall on its playercount and it has eventually affected the solid player basis it used to have.

These days, the game can get to aproximately 70 players per day, having a number of around 300 regular players. The game used to have a higher player count but now it's almost empty, it can be witnessed at late hours of the day where only a number of almost 10 players is seen.

What makes this community pretty interesting and unique, is the freedom they have for doing and working with the servers of the mod. The events, servers, crews, all made by the creative mind of players which leads us to an important point of this outstanding mod and that is that the players, apart from having their creative sense grown, they also have a huge cultural exchange with players that come from the southern part of the world to the further east of the world.

Events such as Vice War which is probably the biggest event in the whole community make the mod still a pretty entertaining source of fun. Servers as Littlewhiteys or XE were and are just as important for the game as the most filled servers of the most played games over the decade. Just as other GTA Multiplaying mods, the browser is filled up in empty servers that can eventually fill themselves up out of the blue.

Myriad of forums are still active just to pair all the players to discuss further meetings and events, to announce the creation of new servers, crews and to see a number of still extant interested players to join any crew or server. The old fashioned way of the organization, the nostalgic vibes of the 70's Miami portrayed in this 2003 game, surrounded by a couple of foreigners all over the streets of Downtown, Prawn Island and Starfish Island are just a worthy experience for those who want to have a fun gaming moment.

From my own view, I have witnessed the magic of this game for over 6 years and there are not yet any plans of retirement since the opportunities of meeting new interesting people, freely making events (even having strict limitations from the game's mechanics) seem quite appealing to the viewers/player's eyes.
