Music's Effect On People: The Cure ✅

Why music has such an influence on us?

There are some subjectives matter which we don't want to discuss here, we will be explaining from a personal perspective, of course, people is able to think differently.
I have been listening to The Cure for almost one year, the case is, I only listened to their most famous hits like "Boys Don't Cry" or "Friday I'm in Love". I decided to listen to two of their albums, the first one was their debut album "Three Imaginary Friends" and to their ninth album "Disintegration". My review was excesively positive I would say, both albums were great, but I liked Disintegration much more because my likes aim more in those melancholical and nostalgic directions.

Sensations felt during listening this are certainly unexplainable, there are things that can't be simply explained through words. Some sort of happiness but emptiness invaded me; there have been a myriad of researches regarding this matter, and it's been proved that music has been with us since quite a bunch of centuries, and that has helped us evolving. The Cure is just an example of how music in general can take us to a different place or even boost our own thoughts and imagination. Either our emotional part or phisycal, we are somehow motivated and saddened because of music, hence the importance music has gotten through decades of studies is proven.

During the late 80's, Punk was having its last heart beats and a new big thing was about to flourish. We are talking about Post/Punk, a music gender recognized for its melancholical tones and often tragical melodies. Today, I will present to you, some interesting information about this mitological band called "The Cure". Born in 1959 in Blackpool, UK, Robert Smith is the co-founder of the band, along Laurence Tolhurst.

From 1978 till now, Robert Smith has led the band to its peak, which was in the middle of the 80's decade, and the only member who has lasted almost the same time as him, is Simon Gallup who left the band in the early 80's to join back in 1985 till today. Robert Smith says he often writes when he is depressive, though he is not a depressive person himself, he just has episodes as many of us and when those moments come, he takes advantage to inspire himself to make masterpieces, such as the whole "Disintegration" album (1988) The song "Lovesong" from this album, was dedicated to her bride back then, and his wife nowadays, Mary Poole, who he has been married with since 1988.

The Cure can be considered a cult band these days, because its Alternative Rock roots were left behind back in the 90's. They are part of the groups that founded a base to future alternative bands just with bands of the size of Joy Division and The Smiths. The Cure lyrics, Robert's voice and the group's magical performances, can pierce through your skin right to your heart as sharp knives.
So, what kind of sensations does music give to you? Do you feel sad? you rather feel joyful?
