Why is it so important to make old cultures prevail? : George Catlin's work ✅

During 1830, George Catlin was not very well-known, maybe, he is not even well-known nowadays, but, here is some sort of tribute to his art and his dedication to prevail E.E.U.U Natives legacy and customs.

All this inspiration began when he met Osceola, leader of a native tribe, who has jailed in Philadelphia and who he visited and gave support. After that, his journey throughout the United States began.
He started his travecy along general William Clark, trying to find out the Natives nature. In each single place he visited, he made a portrait of the Natives and interacted with them in order to make them feel comfortable with him. He has more than 500 paintings, making a large collection purely of Natives portraits. Going from Mississippi, to Missouri, even to the Niagara Falls, he knocked around all over the United States of America and took every chance of meeting Natives. He wanted to make their culture and customs to live for a long time, all of this caused for the unstoppable invasion of the young country of E.U, trying to conquer and invade new territories in the west zone forcing Natives to move away. Even though his work wasn't valued enough in the EEUU, he traveled to Europe to show his collection and then returned to America but this time he went to Los Andes and part of Central America where he also had some bunch of new experiences to make new portraits. Sadly, he went bankrupt and found no buyer for his collection, but later The Smithsonians bought it and he passed away a few later.

His legacy is very well valued these days, his paintings and portraits are safely saved and showed to  people in The Natural Museum of New York.

The story of a man who traveled all around the continents and made painting his work and fun. With a deep purpose of prevailing the culture of the forthcoming extinction of Natives.

Why George Catlin's example is so important for nowadays society?

George's work is in no way useless; in today's society, we have been somehow taught not to learn everything, is this harmful?  It's fine if you are not interested in everything, but it's good if you give learning and past events its importance. It doesn't mean you necessarily have to learn about it or read a whole essay regarding the matter, but it's more about having something present. In this case, Catlin's work has made a huge impact on prevailing values, thanks to him, we can receive much more information regarding native americans from the past generations, it's an important matter to add in our history books. The same thing happens with every single author and artist from the past decades, since Greek times to our rotten society these days.

Patching up the previous events and looking for responses sometimes, all those inputs have somehow helped increasing our knowledge regarding our own humanity aspect.
